Harper Ann

This weekend after we went to the pumpkin patch my wonderful sister-in-law Ruthie asked if I would snap a few photos of her little girl (my sweet niece!) Harper. We were getting ready to head out for a dinner so we didn't have long, but we made the most of it! Harper is one of the happiest little babies I have ever been around, as you can tell from the pumpkin patch pictures. By the time we took a few pictures at the house, she was kind of over it. I suggested taking a few in the grass, but Ruthie said Harper wasn't a huge fan of grass. So instead we threw down a quilt on top of the grass for a few pictures. Ruthie was right...Harper did NOT like the grass. It was like we had trapped her on this quilt! She would crawl to the edge, then paw at the grass with a look of disgust before crawling to another edge and pawing at the grass there. It was so funny! Because of the grass situation we had to work REALLY hard to get a smile...that is, until Ruthie picked her up. Ruthie wasn't planning on  being in any of the pictures, but once Harper started smiling I just started snapping and I'm so glad I did! My favorites were the last couple I took of Ruthie and Harper. So, so sweet. These pictures really show how much Harper adores her momma....I love it!

A few more pumpkin patch pictures of Harper that I didn't post before.

And now a few taken back at the house.

This next one was just a sweet accident. Ruthie was trying to get Harper to sit in the grass and I was just randomly clicking while I changed my settings since we changed directions. It isn't totally in focus, but considering I wasn't even looking through the view finder when I shot it, I'm ok with that...I still think it is pretty adorable. :) IMG_0934

In an attempt to get Harper to smile more, Ruthie started tossing her up in the air. And that is when we got all these cute pictures. :)

And my favorites from the whole "session" were these last couple ones I snapped after Ruthie said, "Ok, I think we got at least one that will work." Little did we know the best ones were yet to be taken! :)

The Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we took Jane on her first trip to the pumpkin patch! When I first mentioned wanting to take Jane to the pumpkin patch, Robby wasn't totally on board. He said this would be more for us, Jane wouldn't remember it, he didn't like the pumpkin patch as a kid, etc. etc. While I originally was going to take her during the week, cruddy weather pushed it back to Saturday and rescheduled baseball games made it so Robby could go with us! And I am SO glad it worked out that way. We had such a great time. Since Jane loves being outside (and feeling the wind on her face), she had an especially great time. :) We picked out her first pumpkin and of course took tons of pictures. I can't wait to take Jane back next year when she will be able to enjoy all of the fun activities they had for kids!

In other news, I actually have two posts written (just waiting on pictures) that I wrote at one month and two months about Jane, but I need to go through all the pictures on my phone and pick some out for each post and each time I think about doing that part, I get overwhelmed and think "I'll do it tomorrow." But really...I'm going to do it this week. :) Since all of these pictures were on my camera, they were much easier to upload, plus I'm still riding the high of the pumpkin patch and wanted to get these up! :) Enjoy!

After a great trip to the pumpkin patch I couldn't help but be all smiles as we hauled out our pumpkins and our sweet, sleepy Jane. Life is good.

Laura - Senior Pictures

I had so much fun taking Laura's senior pictures last weekend. She had such a great, laid back approach and it made the whole session so much fun. Laura is another sweet girl from Hutch that I can't believe is a senior. Seriously, where did the time go?! Knowing that all of these girls are seniors makes me feel old! Laura's family lived in Hutch before moving to KC for a little while. I can remember being so sad because our families were good friends, and at that point I didn't understand why people would choose move away from the amazing town of Hutchinson! :) Luckily for us (and them), the Sellers' eventually moved back to the garden spot of the universe and Laura has been happily growing up here ever since! :) It has been so much fun watching her grow up and even though she is going to K-State next year, I know she will always be a Jayhawk at her core. ;)

Laura, I had a great time taking your senior pictures. Hope you like your preview! :)

After taking some pictures downtown we headed out to Sand Hills State Park. As soon as we pulled up this little pup decided he wanted to be our friend. Laura tossed a little stick for him to fetch in an attempt to get him out of the pictures and instead he very quickly brought back this HUGE stick! Haha! Eventually Anne was able to distract the dog enough that it lost interest in us and we carried on.

I had never shot out at Sand Hills before and I loved the setting. It was an absolutely perfect evening for pictures. We ended up getting some of my favorite shots out there. :)
